These are your Philly Pretzel Factory Players of the Game for Week # 1 – MN at Academy Park, 8-29-14:
Academy Park: Jeremy Dembry
Academy Park’s Jeremy Dembry led the Knight’s offense on the ground with 15 carries for 136 yards (9.1 YPC) and 1 touchdown. Dembry also recorded three tackles including .5 tackle for loss.
Marple Newtown: Adrian Sapnas
Marple Newtown’s Adrian Sapnas broke the game open in the 3rd quarter after a scoreless first half with a 75 yard touchdown run to put the Tigers on the board for the first time in 2014. Later in the same quarter, Sapnas broke a run for 88 yards and the Tiger’s 2nd TD of the game.
Sapnas ended the night with 257 yards on 25 carries (10.3 YPC) and 2 touchdowns. In addition, Adrian had 4 receptions for 7 yards along with a kick-off return for 35 yards totaling 299 all purpose yards.
Sapnas’ 257 rushing yards is a new Marple Newtown single game rushing record previously held by Cimirrow Moat (9-2-11).
